Restoration of fine guitars can be performed by Richard Brun. Past restorations have included fine guitars by makers such as Antonio de Torres, Francisco Simplicio, Hermann Hauser I, Gaetano Guadagnini II, Louis Panormo, Johann Gottfried Scherzer, Ignacio Fleta, Manuel Soto y Solares, Enrique Garcia, Manuel Gutierrez, Arcangel Fernandez, Domingo Esteso, Santos Hernandez, Miguel Rodriguez, Manuel Ramârez, JosÚ Ramârez, Marcelo Barbero, and even 18th century instruments to name but a few. My philosophy of restoration tends to be conservative, and I favor trying to preserve originality whenever possible, even if the best course is to do nothing. If you want your Torres sanded down and lacquered, don't bother to call me. On the other hand, if you've acquired a Torres that somebody sanded down and lacquered, I may be able to help. I am a very practical restorer and repairman, and I realize not every instrument is destined to sit under a glass cover in some museum, so my work also takes into account the practical necessities of the working musician, a position I also once held.
